Behind the farmhouse dating from 1880 to the Flora Pontweg 141 between De Koog Den Burg and the houses themselves as Beachcombing say, "first and largest Juttersmuseum real world". Stir more than 65 years, collecting and exhibiting the Flora complex formed as it stands. Flora and Klaas Jan Hoeve Uitgeest where it once began.
When boys of 10 years they went with their father to the beach. Curiosity and adventure were the motives and the urge to go to the beach and then back home with stuff were stored in one of the many barns. In the outdoor area are many curious objects displayed by the North Sea, Texel Fishermen are exhausted, such as aircraft parts, anchors, rudders, vislieren, a ankerwinch, a cylinder liner of 3,000 kg. and much more. The fire tower that comes Rottum and a wheelhouse of a cutter Texel have received a place on the attractive outdoor area.
Inside the reception area, where in Jan Uitgeest the coffee and chocolate is always hot and fresh, the walls are covered with thousands of brass nameplates that nothing to do with pushing on but well worth the watch worth. The furniture where you can chug from juthout is obviously made in whole or on the beach gejut. Within the eye immediately is the long wall opposite the entrance where the Texel Reydon painter has painted a beautiful scene of the wreck of the German coaster Hunte on December 28, 2001 at the height of pole 22 at the coast crash. The heart of the exhibition is a motley collection of objects that the last (almost) 70 years on the Texel beach shore.
In the video room can listen to and watch exciting and true stories told by the museum in Jan Uitgeest administrator. Groups and schools know Flora has good years to find and make use of the tours that are given by a real beachcomber. New is the expansion of the collection with a collection of shells, bones and amber that have washed up on the Texel coast. There are also objects that the metal found on the beach. Also found at Flora have a section where old tractors and agricultural implements and machinery are exhibited. Flora can be found at the Pontweg 141 near exit 13. The museum is open all year from Monday to Saturday from 10.00 am to 17.00 pm.
